President Zardari reiterates commitment to laborers’ dignity on International Labour Day

Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari, in a statement released on International Labour Day, has reiterated the government’s commitment to honoring the dignity of laborers, addressing their rights, and improving their working conditions. He emphasized the need for social protection, fair wages, and safe working environments amidst the challenges of inflation, unemployment, and climate change effects.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari called for a stronger role of the state in safeguarding laborers’ rights and implementing policies to prevent labor exploitation and provide social support. He stressed the importance of fair wage practices and the need for employers to ensure worker safety, including the provision of training and protective equipment for those in hazardous environments.

The President’s message underscores a reminder to uphold the historic struggle of laborers and work towards their welfare, amidst the unprecedented challenges faced by the working class in Pakistan.
