Islamabad, April 02, 2014 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has allowed government departments to hire contingent staff (on daily wages and with temporary status) as per genuine requirements. In this regard, Prime Minister has further directed heads of government departments to strictly follow applicable rules and regulations and conduct the process in a transparent manner based on merit.
This decision was made to further improve the day-to-day functioning of government departments and to ensure service delivery to the citizens. Moreover, Prime Minister has given approval to hiring of independent Members of the Planning Commission of Pakistan.
These include Mr. Yahya Mehmood Khwaja as member ICT and IT, Malik Ahmad Khan as member Infrastructure, Mr. Naeem-u-Zaffar as member Social Sector, Mr. Faheem-ul-Islam as member Private Sector Development and Syed Tahir Hijazi as member Governance. Prime Minister has also approved appointment of Mr. Shahid Ghaffar as Managing Director of National Investment Trust and Ms. Tahira Raza as President of First Women Bank.
