Prime Minister Sharif Champions Economic Reforms and Solarization Initiative in Balochistan

Quetta: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in a key address to the Balochistan cabinet today, detailed the government’s ongoing reform agenda aimed at economic revitalization and sustainable development. Highlighting a major initiative to solarize over one million tubewells across Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized this shift as crucial for fuel savings and enhanced agricultural efficiency.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister’s plans include a significant focus on Balochistan, where 28,000 agricultural tubewells are set to be converted to solar power within three months, at a cost of fifty-five billion rupees. This initiative is expected to expand cultivable land and simplify irrigation practices for local farmers.

Further underscoring the commitment to regional development, Prime Minister Sharif announced that students from all provinces, including a ten percent quota from Balochistan, will be sent to China for modern agricultural training. This is part of a broader agreement with Huawei to send three hundred thousand students overseas for advanced educational opportunities.

The Prime Minister also responded to Balochistan’s request by approving a hundred percent increase in its budget, a move that supports joint federal and provincial development efforts. He mentioned the allocation of funds for establishing Danish Schools in the province, aiming to bolster education and skill development among the youth. Prime Minister Sharif expressed confidence in the provincial leadership’s role in fostering development and assured continuous support for the prosperity of Balochistan.
