Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Begins Beijing Visit to Strengthen Pakistan-China Relations

Beijing, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Beijing for the second segment of his five-day visit to China, aimed at deepening the strategic and economic ties between the two countries.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister was welcomed at the airport by Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong. Accompanied by a high-level delegation including the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, as well as other cabinet members and senior officials, Sharif’s agenda in Beijing is packed with high-profile meetings. He is scheduled to meet with China’s President, the Premier, and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, reflecting the comprehensive relationship between Pakistan and China.

Additionally, Sharif will participate in a Pakistan-China Friendship and Business event and will hold discussions with CEOs of major Chinese companies involved in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. The visit is expected to culminate in the signing of multiple memorandums of understanding across various sectors, further cementing the robust bilateral relationship.
