Prime Minister Vows Justice for May 9 Incident Perpetrators

Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has affirmed that those responsible for the May 9 incidents, which saw attacks on state institutions and the desecration of martyrs’ memorials, will face justice. He spoke at a ceremony in Islamabad, organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, to honor martyrs and show solidarity with their families.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister stressed that the Pakistani populace will not tolerate such acts of rebellion against the state or attempts to divide the armed forces in the future. He assured that only those directly involved in the May 9 incidents would be targeted for prosecution, responding to concerns raised by a martyr’s mother during the event.

On this solemn occasion, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the armed forces’ dedication to the welfare and education of martyrs’ families, suggesting that other departments should follow this model. He expressed national pride in the sacrifices of the martyrs and commended the armed forces for their service, not only in combat but also in aiding civilians during disasters. The audience gave a standing ovation to the families of the martyrs at the request of the Prime Minister.
