Prime Minister’s meeting with CEO JETRO

Islamabad, January 25, 2018 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi met Mr. Ishige Hiroyuki, CEO of Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos today. Special Assistant to PM Mr. Ali Jehangir Siddiqui, MNA Ms. Shiza Fatima and senior government officials were also present. The Prime Minister appreciated JETRO’s consistent support to Pakistan for trade and investment. He emphasized that Pakistan’s goal is to engage with all of Asian countries in its economic activity and Japan is among its top partner.

Prime Minister Abbasi apprised the CEO JETRO that in last few years Pakistan has made tremendous achievements towards political stability, improved law and order situation, energy security, and economic growth that have been acknowledged by renowned international rating agencies. CEO JETRO acknowledged Pakistan’s economic growth and expressed the hope for continued cooperation in various sectors of the economy. JETRO is a leading investment match-maker in Japan in the public sector and has 73 overseas offices with extensive research network. The 2017 JETRO Report puts Pakistan at number one in terms of business growth expectations, profitability and local employment.
