Acting President Gilani Supports Welfare Initiatives and Emphasizes Sustainable Water Management

Lahore, Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani affirmed the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) ongoing support for the government’s welfare initiatives aimed at aiding farmers, youth, and laborers during the unveiling of a new reverse osmosis (RO) plant project. Speaking to the media, Gilani expressed the party’s intent to contribute to an upcoming budget that aligns with public interests, particularly in enhancing water and sanitation management as part of Pakistan’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6.

According to Press Information Department, Gilani underscored the importance of clean water access as a global challenge that requires immediate and collective action. He also touched upon national security, stating Pakistan’s readiness to address any threats along its borders and issues of terrorism and extremism through national unity. The Acting President reiterated the PPP’s commitment to public welfare and political dialogue as fundamental strategies for achieving economic stability and public service goals.
