Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan to Represent Pakistan at Major International Conference in Tajikistan

Islamabad, Federal Minister for Communications, Privatization, and Investment Board Abdul Aleem Khan is set to represent Pakistan at an international regional conference in Tajikistan titled “Road to Tien Shan.” Scheduled for May 29 and 30, the conference will see participation from multiple countries including China, India, Armenia, Iran, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, along with leaders from key global financial and investment institutions.

According to Press Information Department, the conference aims to enhance connectivity between Central Asia and Europe by developing a fast-track system and creating a grand charter for building roads and trade routes. This initiative, stemming from an agreement made by Central Asian countries in September 2023, positions Pakistan as a central player in the construction of new highways that will link Afghanistan and China to Tajikistan and potentially extend to other Central Asian nations. Minister Khan highlighted the strategic importance of these developments, noting that new roadways would facilitate easier access to ports and commercial markets, bolster international cooperation, and foster trade and investment opportunities for Pakistan amid economic challenges.
