Privilege Motion against Secretary Education Disposed Off

Karachi: A meeting of the committee on Rules of Procedure and privileges was held on 16th April, 2012, under the chairmanship of Mr. Mujadad Ali Isran, MPA, wherein a privilege motion moved by Syeda Marvi Rashdi against Mr. Muhammad Siddique Memon, Secretary Education due to the reason for not attending the telephone.

Mr. Muhammad Siddique Memon while explaining his position said that in the capacity of a public servant as well as in person he has great honour for every elected member regardless of their party affiliation and any Government. As such, Government functionary was supposed to respond, facilitate and address the genuine requirements or issues raised by the honourable members.

He acknowledged that the lady member was a groomed politician and belongs to honourable family and he has personal regards for her. The Secretary further said that the act of not calling back was not an act of commission but the same was in fact an act of omission and expressed his regrets if the sentiments of the honourable member are hurt.

The privilege motion moved by Syeda Marvi Rashdi, MPA against Mr. Muhammad Siddique Memon, Secretary Education was disposed off with direction that the statement of Secretary Education is made as part of the minutes of the meeting of privilege motion.
