Punjab Interior Department Sets Strict Regulations Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha

Lahore, In preparation for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha festivities, the Punjab Interior Department has implemented a series of stringent measures to ensure public safety and regulate religious practices.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, these new orders include a prohibition on banned organizations from collecting sacrificial animal skins. Only entities registered with the Charity Commission are authorized to handle such collections. Additionally, Section 144 will be enforced to prevent the burning of incense sticks in public places, and activities such as bathing and boating in rivers, streams, and dams will be prohibited during the Eid holidays. The same section will also apply to the disposal of animal excrement in manholes or canals. To further ensure public safety, the installation of temporary mechanical swings will be banned.

The spokesperson for the Punjab Interior Department also highlighted that additional security measures are being mandated at Eidgahs, mosques, and madrasas throughout the province. There will be enhanced security at all cattle markets to prevent any form of extortion or unauthorized commissions. The directive also includes a ban on the establishment of illegal cattle markets across Punjab. With a significant influx of tourists expected in Murree and the Galiyat region, local authorities are instructed to coordinate closely with police and relevant departments to manage traffic and ensure all necessary preparations are in place before Eid.
