Punjab Lecturer Removed from Service Following Misconduct Charges

Lahore: A lecturer at Govt. Chando Begum Graduate College, Ms. Rimsha Fatima, has been removed from service due to unauthorized absence, following multiple attempts by the administration to address the issue.

According to Higher Education Department – Government of The Punjab, the decision came after Ms. Fatima failed to respond to several show cause notices regarding her absence from duty since May 16, 2023. The notices, which were issued under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability Act, 2006, cited willful absence from duty without permission as the main point of misconduct. Despite being given multiple opportunities to present her case, including personal hearings, Ms. Fatima did not appear before the authorities, leading to the final decision of her removal.
