Lahore, In a compassionate move aimed at supporting the health and welfare of police personnel, Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has authorized the disbursement of 39 lakh rupees for the medical treatment of five officers injured in the line of duty.
According to Punjab Police, this funding allocation is part of ongoing efforts to ensure the well-being of police employees. Among the beneficiaries, Constable Muhammad Sarwar from Rahim Yar Khan received the highest sum of 15 lakh rupees for medical expenses. Additionally, Ghazi Muhammad Shakeel of Faisalabad and Constable Muhammad Asif of Rahim Yar Khan were each granted one million rupees for their treatment. Furthermore, Bahawalnagar’s injured constable Gulab Ali was allocated two and a half lakh rupees, and TSI Zeeshan Elahi of Khanewal district received one and a half lakh rupees.
The Compensation Award Committee of the Welfare Branch forwarded these cases to IG Punjab, who emphasized that there should be no shortfall in funds or support in ensuring the health welfare of police employees and their families facing health challenges.
This initiative reflects the Punjab Police’s commitment to the care of its personnel, acknowledging the risks they face in their duties and ensuring they receive necessary support during recovery.
