Punjab Police Investigates Torture and Death of Woman in Muzaffargarh

Lahore, The Punjab Police, under the direction of Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, is investigating a grave incident involving the torture and death of a woman by her in-laws in Muzaffargarh. Dr. Anwar has called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the woman’s death, emphasizing the urgency of justice and strict legal actions against those responsible.

According to Punjab Police, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed the District Police Officer (DPO) of Muzaffargarh to personally oversee the investigation to ensure that it meets all legal standards. The IG stressed that violence, especially that which leads to death, is intolerable and those found guilty must face severe consequences under the law. The case has drawn significant attention from the highest levels of the provincial police, reflecting a zero-tolerance policy towards violence against women.
