Lahore: The Central Police Office hosted a rank-pinning ceremony for 44 Traffic Officers who were promoted to Grade 17, marking a significant improvement in the service and promotion structure of the traffic police. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, announced further promotions to the rank of Traffic Officer are expected in April next year. He praised the wardens for their dedication in challenging conditions and emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism and courteous public interactions.
According to Punjab Police, IG Dr. Usman Anwar highlighted the role of the traffic police in combating smog and encouraged officers to continue their efforts in this area. The event saw national cricketer Hasan Ali in attendance to honor his brother, Gul Sher, one of the newly promoted officers from Gujranwala. Dr. Anwar personally pinned ranks on the officers, wearing the traffic police uniform for the occasion.
He congratulated the officers and urged them to fulfill their new responsibilities with enthusiasm and commitment to public service. Officers from Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala were present with their families. Senior officials, including Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry and Additional IG Traffic Mirza Farhan Baig, also attended the ceremony.
