Quetta Holds Open Court to Address Civic Issues Under Chief Minister’s Directive

Quetta: On the directives of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti and the Chief Secretary, an open court session was conducted in Sabza Zar, aimed at directly addressing the civic concerns of Quetta’s residents. The session, supervised by Deputy Commissioner Quetta Lt. (R) Saad Bin Asad, saw significant participation from high-ranking officials and a large number of local citizens presenting various issues.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the open court was attended by Commissioner Quetta Division Hamza Shafqat, MNA Nawabzada Jamal Khan Raisani, and SSP Operation Muhammad Baloch, alongside officers from multiple sectors including education, health, public utilities, and law enforcement. Citizens voiced concerns ranging from the non-supply of essential utilities like water, gas, and electricity to issues with illegal encroachments and the conditions of local schools and hospitals.

Immediate actions were ordered on several problems highlighted during the session, particularly those presented by a citizen named Silen regarding local utility failures and infrastructural encroachments. Deputy Commissioner Asad, in talks with the media, emphasized the district administration’s commitment to resolving these issues promptly. He stated that the open court is part of a broader initiative to enhance governmental responsiveness to public needs, with plans to hold such sessions monthly.

The initiative was well-received by the public, who lauded the efforts of the Chief Minister and the local administration in setting up a platform that fosters direct dialogue and swift resolution of community issues.
