Quetta Implements Ban on Unregistered Auto Rickshaws and Motorcycle Trolleys

Quetta: In a bid to address traffic congestion within the city limits, the Commissioner of Quetta Division has enacted a ban on the entry and sale of new, unregistered auto rickshaws and motorcycle trolleys. This move is in accordance with directives from the Balochistan High Court, aiming to curb the rising number of these vehicles contributing to traffic jams.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the enforcement of this ban involves the deployment of law enforcement agencies, including the transport department, traffic police, levies, and police personnel. These agencies are stationed at key entry points to the city, such as Luck Pass, Mian Gandi Check Post on Karachi Road, Darakhshan Check Post on Sibi Road, and DHA Kuchlak Check Post. The directive mandates all departments and law enforcement agencies to comply fully and submit monthly progress reports to the Commissioner’s office, which will then be forwarded to the court in the interest of public welfare.
