Residents suffer as Indian marine, NSG commandos conduct searches across Srinagar city

Srinagar, May 18, 2023 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the residents of Srinagar are suffering immense inconvenience as the occupation authorities have intensified the so-called security measures across the territory ahead of the G20 meeting. Indian marine commandos have been carrying out security drills inside the Dal Lake in Srinagar while National Security Guard (NSG) commandos have started frisking and search operations in city centre Lal Chowk, subjecting the people to severe harassment.

Indian army, police and paramilitary personnel are searching and checking all the vehicles entering Srinagar city and frisking the commuters. Indian forces’ personnel have seized many vehicles and motorcycles and shifted them to police stations.

A 4-tier security ring managed by the NSG, marine commandos, special security group (SSG) of police, paramilitary forces and the Army has been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of G20 meeting and project the so-called normalcy narrative of the Indian government. The meeting will start on May 22 and conclude on May 24.
