Islamabad: The Pakistani Rupee’s slide continued against major international currencies, closing at new lows against the US Dollar, Euro, British Pound, and others according to data released by the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan.
The greenback climbed further, reaching a buying price of 283.80 rupees and a selling price of 284.90 rupees. The Euro also saw gains, rising to 328.95 rupees for buying and 331.10 rupees for selling.
The British Pound surged to 380.96 rupees for buying and 383.21 for selling. The Japanese Yen rose modestly, trading at 1.89 and 1.94 rupees, respectively.
The UAE Dirham appreciated to 77.28 rupees for buying and 77.55 for selling. The Saudi Riyal also saw a slight increase, reaching 75.53 rupees for buying and 75.85 for selling.
In interbank trading, the US dollar reached 282.41 rupees for buying and 282.61 rupees for selling. These figures indicate a sustained period of pressure on the local currency.
