Karachi, In a significant corporate development, Sanofi-Aventis Pakistan Limited has announced its decision to change its name to “Hoechst Pakistan Limited.” This change was officially approved by the company’s Board of Directors during a meeting held on August 8, 2023. The alteration, subject to regulatory approvals and legal formalities, will not impact the company’s core operations.
The Registrar of Companies has already confirmed the availability of the chosen name, “Hoechst Pakistan Limited.” The decision to rebrand stems from a larger business context; however, the company assures that its primary line of business will remain unaffected by this change.
This strategic transition follows the acquisition of a substantial 52.87% shareholding of Sanofi-Aventis Pakistan Limited by an Investor Consortium. The Consortium, composed of Packages Limited, IGI Investments (Private) Limited, and affiliates of the Arshad Ali Gohar Group, executed the acquisition in April 2023 as per the terms of the Share Purchase Agreement.
The new name, “Hoechst Pakistan Limited,” encapsulates the company’s enduring legacy since its establishment in 1967. Notably, the company initiated pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals manufacturing in 1972 and became a publicly traded entity in 1977. This renaming endeavor aligns the company’s identity with its long-standing presence and achievements in Pakistan’s corporate landscape.
