Lakki Marwat, Seven members of the Pakistani army were martyred when their vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED) in Lakki Marwat. The attack resulted in the deaths of Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas, Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir, Lance Naik Muhammad Anwar, Lance Naik Hussain Ali, Sepoy Asad Ullah, Sepoy Manzoor Hussain, and Sepoy Rashid Mehmood.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, efforts are underway to sanitize the area and root out any terrorists present. The ISPR emphasized that those responsible for this tragic incident will be brought to justice, reaffirming the security forces’ determination to eliminate terrorism from the region.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have both expressed profound grief over the incident. In separate statements released today, they paid tribute to the valor of the fallen soldiers and extended their condolences to the bereaved families. Both leaders condemned the attack and reiterated the nation’s resolve to continue the fight against terrorism until it is completely eradicated from Pakistan.
