Lahore, The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has announced the early completion of the Shahdara Flyover project, finishing four months ahead of schedule and promising significant relief from traffic congestion for city commuters.
According to Zameen.com, the LDA’s efficiency and commitment were instrumental in the rapid completion of the Shahdara Flyover, achieving the feat in just six months, against an initial timeline of 10 months. This early completion represents a major accomplishment for the city’s infrastructure development.
The new flyover, which extends over 850 meters and includes three lanes, now serves as a vital link to GT Road and N-5. Its opening is expected to greatly enhance connectivity and ease traffic flow, particularly for those commuting through Shahdara, one of the city’s key entry and exit points. The inauguration of the flyover was overseen by the Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Mohsin Naqvi, who also announced the upcoming beautification of the surrounding area.
LDA Director General (DG) Chief Engineer Asrar Saeed expressed gratitude towards the CM and LDA for their leadership, which significantly contributed to the expedited completion of the project. The Shahdara Flyover is seen as a critical step towards addressing the persistent traffic issues in Lahore, particularly in areas that have long been plagued by heavy congestion.
