Sialkot, July 18, 2023 (PPI-OT): Mr, Amer Majeed Sheikh, Vice President of SCCI warmly welcomed the Ambassador Atif Sharif, Pakistan’s envoy to Ethiopia, on his visit to the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on July 18, 2023. The meeting was aimed to strengthen bilateral trade relations and explore business opportunities. The Vice President of SCCI shared the potential of “Made in Sialkot” products in the Ethiopian market, as well as ways to enhance trade and economic cooperation.
During the meeting, both expressed their commitment to fostering greater trade ties between Pakistan and Ethiopia. Ambassador Sharif endorsed the exceptional quality, craftsmanship, and competitive pricing of Sialkot’s products, emphasizing their potential in the Ethiopian market. They agreed on the importance of exploring new avenues for collaboration, such as joint ventures and investment opportunities, to facilitate the exchange of goods and services between the two countries.
The Vice President of SCCI reiterated the chamber’s dedication to promoting Sialkot’s renowned products in Ethiopia. He emphasized the chamber’s role in facilitating business partnerships, sharing market intelligence, organizing trade delegations/ single-country exhibitions and B2B meetups with relevant trade bodies to enhance bilateral trade. Both expressed optimism about the potential growth of trade and pledged to work together in identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities across various sectors, including surgical instruments, cutlery items, leather products, shoes and saddlery, and more.
