Sindh Home Minister presides’ meeting to review progress into police facilitation centres in city

Karachi, April 29, 2016 (PPI-OT):A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Khan Sial to review progress into police facilitation centres in the city. The meeting was attended by IGP Sindh A. D. Khawaja. Addl. IGP Karachi Zonal DIGs, AIG Security and other officers. AIG security/SSU Maqsood Memon spelled out the aims and objectives of the police facilitation centres including:-

Character certificate

Legal counselling

Police verification

Non cognizance reports

Vehicle verifications

Traffic fines deposit facility

Complaints against police

Investigation progress

Learner driving license

Reporting of missing documents etc.

IGP directed AIG security/SSU to ensure implementation of basic objectives of police facilitation centres and to devise a viable mechanism to institutionalize them. He further constituted a 3-member committee comprising of DIG South, AIG security/SSU and SSP South to devise a comprehensive strategy for its even implementation. The facilitation centres would function under overall supervision of AIG security/SSU Maqsood Memon and the working staff would also be selected by him.
