Jaipur, Sonia Gandhi, a senior Congress leader, has accused the Modi government of fostering unemployment and economic decline over the past decade, stating that India’s welfare should be inclusive of all its citizens, not just a privileged few.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during the unveiling of the Congress party’s ‘Nyay’ manifesto in Jaipur for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Gandhi expressed her disapproval of the current administration’s performance, emphasizing the challenges it has posed to the country’s democratic and economic fabric. She accused the Modi government of undermining democratic principles and spreading fear, labeling the regime as dictatorial and a threat to democracy.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, also speaking at the rally, criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly taking undue credit while failing to deliver on significant promises, such as the creation of two crore jobs annually. Kharge highlighted the discrepancy between the government’s claims and the ground realities faced by the Indian populace, questioning the fulfillment of past pledges like the promised deposit of Rs 15 lakh in every citizen’s account, and accused the Prime Minister of dishonesty.
