Stocks Tumble as Indices Face Downward Trend

Karachi: The stock market faced a downturn as key indices, KSE30 and KSE100, registered significant declines on Wednesday. The KSE30 fell by 524.48 points to close at 48,334.92, while the KSE100 decreased by 1,635.97 points, ending the day at 158,465.06.

The market experienced fluctuations throughout the trading session, with KSE30 reaching a high of 49,054.27 and a low of 48,245.31. Similarly, the KSE100 hit a high of 160,690.12 before dipping to a low of 158,306.84.

Traded volumes also saw a decrease. Regular market turnover was recorded at 951,840,339 shares, down from the previous 1,018,743,000. The traded value in the regular market reached 41,309,297,033, surpassing the prior day’s figures, contrasting with the decline in futures market turnover and traded value.

Market capitalization fell to 18,279,513,795,759 from the previous 18,462,451,276,916, reflecting investor concerns amid the market volatility. The Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited provided these figures, highlighting a cautious sentiment across the trading landscape.
