The Ministry of Commerce has initiated the process of selecting Trade Officers in BS-18, 19 and 20 for posting in the Pakistan Missions abroad

Islamabad: The Ministry of Commerce has initiated the process of selecting Trade Officers in BS-18, 19 and 20 for posting in the Pakistan Missions abroad. The officers of the Occupational Groups mentioned below, having 3 years recent experience of serving on relevant post in the Economic Ministries / Divisions and Provincial Departments like Planning and Development, Finance, Industries and Agriculture may apply through their Administrative Departments on prescribed Performa.

i) District Management Group,
ii) Custom and Excise Group,
iii) Income Tax Group,
iv) Commerce and Trade Group ,
v) Audit and Accounts Group,
vi) Secretariat Group,
vii) Office Management Group,
viii) Planner and Economist Group.

The candidates will have to appear in a written test to be conducted by Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on the issues related to trade and commerce, computer skills and data analysis.

Letters have already been issued to the Controlling Divisions/Departments for sending nominations of the eligible officers. In case official intimation is not received, the interested officers may apply through their Administrative Departments upto 10th December, 2011 for participation in the test.

The written test will be held in Islamabad shortly. The date, time and venue will be communicated in due course of time to short-listed candidates. A prototype of the form containing, inter alia, the batch and occupational group of the candidates, grade and present posting can be downloaded from the website (www.commerce.gov.pk). For any kind of information the website may be visited periodically.
