The Searle Company Sees Significant Trading Activity on Pakistan Stock Exchange

Karachi, The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed notable trading activity in the shares of The Searle Company on March 25, 2024, with significant fluctuations in stock prices throughout the trading day. The company’s shares experienced varied performance across different futures contracts, indicating investor interest and market speculation on the pharmaceutical giant’s financial outlook.

The primary stock of The Searle Company (SEARL) opened at a price of PKR 52.4 and closed higher at PKR 55.26 after reaching a high of PKR 54.72 and a low of PKR 51.5 during the trading session. A total of 12,179,548 shares were traded, with the closing price marking an increase from the opening price.

In futures trading, The Searle Company’s April contract (SEARL-APR) opened at PKR 54.19 and closed at an even higher PKR 56.3. This contract saw its price moving between a low of PKR 52.53 and a high of PKR 55.78, with 1,145,000 shares changing hands by the day’s end.

The March contract for The Searle Company (SEARL-MAR) also showed upward movement, opening at PKR 52.55 and closing at PKR 55.49. The stock reached a high of PKR 54.62 after dropping to a low of PKR 51.69, with a total trading volume of 2,206,500 shares.

Interestingly, no trading activity was reported for The Searle Company’s May futures contract (SEARL-MAY), which remained at a standstill with an opening and closing price of PKR 0, despite having a specified high of PKR 57.37.
