Karachi: The Pakistan Navy has welcomed the arrival of its third Offshore Patrol Vessel, PNS HUNAIN, at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard in Karachi, marking a significant enhancement in its maritime defense capabilities. The arrival of the vessel was celebrated with an impressive reception ceremony attended by high-ranking naval officers, including Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi, Commander Pakistan Fleet, who served as the Chief Guest at the event.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, PNS HUNAIN is a state-of-the-art multipurpose medium-sized vessel, equipped with advanced electronic warfare, anti-ship, anti-air warfare weapons, sensors, self-protection, and terminal defense systems. This addition to the fleet underscores Pakistan Navy’s commitment to strengthening its operational readiness and maritime defense.

The ship, commissioned in July of this year, was constructed at Damen Shipyard in Romania. Its arrival in Karachi is a crucial step in bolstering the naval force’s capabilities, particularly in the domains of maritime security and defense operations. The inclusion of PNS HUNAIN in the fleet is expected to significantly enhance the Pakistan Navy’s ability to maintain peace and security in the region’s maritime corridors.
