Tragic Road Accident in Kashmir Claims Eight Lives, Including Five Children

Srinagar: A devastating accident occurred in the Islamabad district of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of eight family members, among them five children, when their vehicle plunged into a gorge.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the deceased included a policeman, two women, and five children, ranging in age from six to sixteen. The family was traveling from Kishtwar to Marwah via Sinthan Top, a known hazardous route, when their vehicle tragically skidded off the road at Daksum and fell into a deep gorge.

The authorities confirmed that all eight family members died instantly at the scene. The accident has highlighted ongoing concerns regarding road safety in the mountainous regions of Jammu and Kashmir, where such tragic incidents are unfortunately common due to challenging driving conditions.
