Tribute Paid to Syed Ali Gilani on 3rd Martyrdom Anniversary at Kashmir Center, Lahore

Lahore: A tribute ceremony was held at the Kashmir Center in Lahore to mark the third martyrdom anniversary of the veteran Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Gilani. The event brought together various speakers who celebrated Gilani’s legacy as a steadfast symbol of resistance and an advocate for Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the speakers at the ceremony lauded Syed Ali Gilani for his unwavering resolve and enduring hardships, including prolonged periods of imprisonment. They emphasized that Gilani’s famous slogan, “We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is ours,” continues to resonate as the voice of every Kashmiri. Despite attempts by India to suppress his spirit through house arrest, Gilani remained a relentless fighter for Kashmiri freedom until his death.

The speakers further criticized the Indian authorities for their actions following Gilani’s death, including imposing a curfew and forcibly taking his body to prevent public mourning and demonstrations. They remembered him not only as a politician and author but also as a significant freedom leader who devoted his life to Kashmir’s struggle.

Prominent figures, including Molana Mufti Shafi Josh, Merajuddin Jaral, Manzoor Hussain Gilani, and others, addressed the attendees, reflecting on Gilani’s contributions and the ongoing challenges faced by the people of Kashmir. The event concluded with a prayer led by Molana Mufti Shafi Josh, seeking higher ranks for Gilani and freedom for the occupied regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
