Two BSF Personnel Die in Road Accidents in IIOJK

Jammu: Two members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF), including an Assistant Sub-Inspector, were killed in separate road accidents in the districts of Kathua and Udhampur in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on Saturday. The incidents highlighted ongoing safety concerns in the region’s challenging terrain and conditions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, ASI Parshotam Singh, aged 58 from Himachal Pradesh, died when his vehicle skidded off the road into Ujh canal near Rajbagh in Kathua district. Singh was driving from Jasrota to Rajbagh when he lost control of his vehicle. Despite rescue efforts that saved two of his colleagues, Singh was swept away by the strong currents, later found in critical condition, and declared dead at the hospital. In a separate incident in Udhampur district, BSF personnel Amit Kumar Shukla, aged 30, was killed when a cab overturned in the Chenani-Nashri tunnel. Shukla, who was stationed in IIOJK, was en route to his home state of Jharkhand for leave.
