Two-day Int’l Parliamentary Convention begins in Islamabad

The two-day International Parliamentary Convention to commemorate Golden Jubilee of Constitution of Pakistan, kicked off at the National Assembly Hall in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf is presiding over the opening session.

Political leaders, legal experts and scholarly luminaries along with eminent civil society, women activists, youth and minorities’ representatives of more than seventeen countries including Kenya, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Oman, Tajikistan, and Kirghizstan are participating in the Convention.

The Speakers, Deputy Speakers and Chairman of the Parliaments from Saudi Arabia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Syria and Belgium will also participate in the convention.

Radio Pakistan’s News and Current Affairs Channel is running special transmission to broadcast live proceedings of the opening session of this International Parliamentary Convention from the National Assembly Hall on National Hookup from 8:30 in the morning.

The proceedings of the closing session will also be broadcast live tomorrow after 2:00 pm bulletin.
