Karachi, The United Business Group (UBG) has been recognized for its significant capacity to address the issues of the business community and contribute to Pakistan’s economic development. The acknowledgment came from the former president of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry, Sheikh Umar Rehan.
According to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Umar Rehan praised the leadership of SM Tanveer and Zubair Tufail at UBG during a meeting with businessmen and industrialists. He noted that during their tenure in FPCCI, they focused on resolving the business community’s problems. However, he observed that in recent years, FPCCI has faced numerous challenges.
Rehan emphasized that the UBG’s leadership has demonstrated the unity and solidarity of the business community. He expressed confidence that the UBG presidential candidate, Atif Ikram, would be victorious in the upcoming election on December 30, citing Ikram’s nomination as a wise decision reflecting the community’s trust. Rehan expressed hope that Ikram would meet the business community’s expectations.
Furthermore, Rehan remarked that the business community of Pakistan stands united under UBG’s banner, showing confidence in making all UBG candidates successful in the election. This unity, he believes, is essential for restoring the reputation of Pakistan’s largest trade body.
Highlighting UBG’s talent pool, Rehan mentioned that the group consists of young, educated, and capable business individuals ready to assume leadership and responsibilities. He recalled UBG’s past successes under the leadership of SM Munir Bhaijaan, who elevated the federation’s reputation globally. Rehan expressed confidence that SM Tanveer’s leadership will continue this legacy, focusing on solving business and industrial challenges with effective and positive economic policies.
Rehan concluded by expressing his firm belief that UBG’s success in the federation election would symbolize the unity of the business and industrialist community and serve as a catalyst for Pakistan’s economic development.
