UN Panel in Islamabad Urges Strong Political Will to Combat Climate Threats

Islamabad, A significant climate change conference held at the United Nations, hosted by Pakistan, has issued a call for the international community to place a higher emphasis on the welfare of women and children and to exhibit a greater political will to address the challenges posed by climate change.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussion panel was a collaborative effort between the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations, Islamic Relief Worldwide, and UNICEF, taking place in New York. The conference underscored the necessity for immediate action to establish mechanisms for mobilizing resources, aiming to fulfill the escalating financial requirements vital for the successful implementation of adaptation and resilience strategies against climate threats.

The assembly’s consensus highlights the urgent need for global cooperation and commitment to safeguard vulnerable populations from the adverse impacts of climate change, emphasizing the role of strong political leadership in spearheading efforts towards sustainable environmental protection.
