Karachi: Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited hosted the 12th Tameer Awards 2025, celebrating young Pakistani entrepreneurs. The event underscored the company’s commitment to fostering innovation and recognizing efforts driving positive change in the country.
This year, the Tameer Awards received over 450 applications, with 30 finalists selected across six categories: Bright Ideas, Circular Economy, Clean Energy Solutions, Empowering Women, Technology Innovation, and Transportation and Mobility. Finalists presented their business ideas to a panel of judges, including business executives, investors, and academic experts, who assessed creativity, scalability, and social impact.
Habib Haider, Director of Corporate and Government Relations, highlighted the diverse range of startups showcased at the event. He noted the potential of Pakistan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem in shaping industries, creating jobs, and redefining growth and impact.
Zubair Shaikh, CEO of Wafi Energy Pakistan, emphasized the Tameer program’s role in creating opportunities for young innovators. He expressed that supporting startups and early-stage businesses helps transform challenges into opportunities for sustainable growth.
The awards recognized winners in each category. Muhammad Zaka ur Rehman won the Bright Ideas category with Z Media Technologies (RunVerse), a fitness platform rewarding physical activity. In Circular Economy, Manahil Akmal’s AgriCalcis was recognized for converting marble waste into fertilizer-grade calcium nitrate. Nida Riaz from Bio-Home Energy won in Clean Energy Solutions for turning organic waste into clean cooking gas and fertilizer.
Syeda Bushra Zehra Zaidi’s B-Fit Revo, a smart foot rehabilitation device for women, won the Empowering Women category. Muhammad Ubaid Raza’s Ace Aeronautics was awarded in Technology Innovation for developing AI-powered drones. In Transportation and Mobility, Ali Yar’s Pani Express was recognized for optimizing tanker deliveries through a digital platform.
The event also recognized runners-up in each category, emphasizing the depth of talent and innovation within Pakistan’s youth. Since its inception, the Tameer program has engaged over a million youth, trained more than 17,000 entrepreneurs, and supported the creation of over 1,200 startups. Through continued support from Wafi Energy, the Tameer program remains dedicated to driving innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic growth in Pakistan.
