Woman killed, 2 cops injured in shooting stone incident in South Kashmir

Srinagar, July 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): A 53-year-old Yatri woman was killed, while two members of the Mountain Rescue Team of Indian police were grievously injured in a shooting stone incident between Sangam Top and Lower Cave in south Kashmir. Officials said that the woman, Urmilabenwas seriously injured after being hit by the shooting stone. Two Indian cops, Mohammed Salem and Mohammed Yaseen, suffered grievous wounds while trying to rescue her.

The woman succumbed to her injuries before being shifted to the hospital, while the injured police personnel were evacuated by army and private helicopter on Yatra duty, they said.
