Karachi: Zong, a prominent digital technology company in Pakistan, has teamed up with Alkhidmat Foundation to donate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to healthcare institutions in Lahore and Islamabad. The collaboration aims to enhance community health by providing essential protective gear to frontline healthcare workers in under-resourced facilities.
The initiative is designed to equip doctors, diagnostic teams, and surgical staff with necessary safety equipment, reinforcing safety standards and reducing waste. It aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly focusing on Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3) and Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12).
Andleeb Aslam, Zong’s official spokesperson, emphasized the company’s commitment to social responsibility, stating that the partnership ensures healthcare workers receive the protection they need to continue their frontline duties. The effort is a part of Zong’s broader mission to drive inclusive growth and provide meaningful community support.
This latest donation builds on an ongoing collaboration between Zong and Alkhidmat Foundation, which has previously delivered healthcare services to over 3,000 patients in Sindh through Mobile Health Units. The partnership also extends relief efforts to flood-affected communities, furthering both organizations’ goal of improving healthcare access across Pakistan.
