Acting President Gilani Offers Condolences at Iran Embassy in Islamabad

Islamabad, Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani visited the Embassy of Iran in Islamabad to offer condolences following the tragic death of Iranian President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, the Foreign Minister, and others in a recent helicopter crash. Gilani expressed profound sorrow on behalf of Pakistan, emphasizing the shared grief with the Iranian people and highlighting the significant loss to the Islamic world.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during his visit, Gilani engaged in discussions with the Iranian Ambassador, Reza Amiri Moghadam, reaffirming the strong historical, cultural, and literary ties between Pakistan and Iran. He stressed the need for enhanced people-to-people contacts and parliamentary exchanges to further strengthen the bilateral relationship. The Ambassador echoed these sentiments, noting that the promotion of ties with Pakistan remains a key focus of Iran’s foreign policy, especially highlighted by President Raisi’s recent visit to Pakistan. He also thanked the Pakistani government and people for their solidarity during this time of mourning.
