Ahsan Iqbal Advocates for US Support on Human Rights in Gaza and Kashmir During US Independence Day Celebration

Islamabad: At a celebration marking the 248th anniversary of American independence, Federal Minister Prof Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and the United States and called on the US to support human rights initiatives in Gaza and Kashmir.

According to Press Information Department, speaking at an event hosted by the American Embassy, Minister Iqbal highlighted 76 years of bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including education, trade, and IT. He stressed the importance of deepening these ties for mutual benefit and urged the US to back peaceful resolutions in Gaza and Kashmir.

The event also celebrated the achievements of the Pak-US partnership, with Iqbal thanking the US for its support in disaster mitigation, particularly following the 2022 floods. The minister outlined the potential for further collaboration in fields like agriculture and technology and noted that bilateral trade exceeded $12 billion in 2023. Iqbal concluded his remarks by quoting Martin Luther King Jr. and expressing wishes for continued prosperity and peace for the United States.
