APHC denounces dastardly act of highway closure in IOK

Srinagar, April 30, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference while strongly condemning the dastardly acts of strangulating the already ailing economy of Jammu and Kashmir has said that the blockade of trucks loaded with fresh fruits, vegetables, livestock and other necessary edibles has rendered the wide section of business fraternity bankrupt and jobless.

An APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, while commenting on the closure of Srinagar-Jammu highway for civilian traffic by the Indian authorities, said, “Heavy financial losses and a wide range of debt trap is being deliberately knit to destroy the economy of Jammu and Kashmir.”

Showing its solidarity with the fruit growers association at Parimpora Srinagar, an APHC delegation on the direction of party Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani visited the Parimpore Fruit Mandi, Srinagar. The delegation also expressed solidarity with the local contractors who have been marginalized in all the constructional activities in the territory as all big and small contracts were given to the non-local contractors.

The APHC delegation described the Indian policy of exploiting the economic interests of Jammu and Kashmir as authored by Israeli planners to push the local economy in a vicious circle of poverty. The delegation appreciated the business and labour classes for their hard work, zeal and zest and managerial skills to keep up their pace of growth through all odds and blockades put forward by the aggressors since long times back. The delegation expressed its hope that the people would lead the resistance movement, come what may.
