At UN, Pakistan urges legal instrument to combat cyber threats to world peace

Islamabad, May 26, 2023 (PPI-OT): At the United Nations, Pakistan has called for of a legally-binding instrument to deal with increasing cyber threats to international peace and security. Pakistan’s deputy permanent representative of to the UN Aamir Khan while speaking during the Security Council’s meeting in New York said, cyber-attacks are taking place with an increased intensity.

He said peaceful use of information and communication technologies and preventing cyber warfare was a critical challenge that needs to be tackled. Pakistan envoy also emphasized the need to build capacity of member states to respond effectively to cyberspace challenges.
