Karachi: On August 27, 2024, the Board of Directors of Atlas Insurance Limited convened via video link to discuss the financial outcomes for the second quarter and the first half of the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. The board confirmed there will be no issuance of cash dividends, bonus shares, or rights shares to the shareholders.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Atlas Insurance’s financial performance for the period demonstrated a stable operational foundation despite ongoing challenges in the insurance sector. For the six months ended June 30, 2024, the company reported a consolidated profit after tax of 1.38 billion Rupees, marking a significant increase from 1.09 billion Rupees during the same period in 2023. The earnings per share also reflected this positive trend, rising from 2.68 Rupees to 5.88 Rupees.
The unaudited financial statements reveal a composite of ups and downs across the company’s revenue streams. Net insurance premium revenue decreased slightly, accompanied by an increase in net insurance claims, which rose from 296.79 million Rupees in 2023 to 349.86 million Rupees in 2024. This was offset by robust growth in investment income, which surged from 183.24 million Rupees to 719.77 million Rupees, highlighting effective asset management strategies.
Atlas Insurance maintained disciplined control over management expenses, which showed a proportionate increase in line with expanded operations, rising from 422.04 million Rupees to 557.17 million Rupees. The underwriting results also reflected a positive outcome, with profits rising from 463.37 million Rupees to 535.53 million Rupees.
The quarterly report for the period ended June 30, 2024, will be disseminated through PUCARS within the stipulated time frame, ensuring compliance with regulatory disclosure requirements.
