Avalanche Warning Issued for Kupwara and Ganderbal Districts in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Authorities have announced an avalanche warning for the Kupwara and Ganderbal districts of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, citing potential medium-danger level avalanches within the next 24 hours.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA) has alerted residents, particularly those living above 2,200 meters in these districts, to the likelihood of avalanches. Residents have been advised to exercise caution and refrain from entering avalanche-prone areas until it is deemed safe.

The warning underscores ongoing efforts to ensure public safety in regions susceptible to natural disasters, particularly in mountainous areas during periods of heavy snowfall or instability.
