Balochistan Cabinet Approves Key Bills for Women’s Rights and Establishes Women’s Police Station in Sabi

Quetta, Dr. Rababa Khan Bilidi, Provincial Adviser for Women Development Department, announced that the Balochistan Provincial Cabinet has approved the Child Marriage Prevention Bill 2024 and the Domestic Violence Amendment Bill 2023. Additionally, a new women’s police station will be established in Sabi to provide legal assistance and guidance to women.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, these measures are part of a broader initiative aimed at enhancing the protection and empowerment of women across the province. The decisions, which also include the formation of district-level committees to combat violence against women, represent the culmination of extensive efforts by civil society and women’s rights organizations. Dr. Bilidi noted that these legislative and structural advancements align with international commitments under United Nations agreements, emphasizing the provincial government’s commitment to promoting gender equality and safeguarding women’s rights under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti.
