Quetta, During a seminar held on International Environment Day at Bitums University, Balochistan Governor Jafar Khan Mandukhel emphasized the severe environmental challenges facing Balochistan, particularly the impacts of climate change. He stressed the urgency of developing a comprehensive response to these issues, noting the province’s acute water scarcity and the need for immediate infrastructure development.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Governor Mandukhel highlighted the lack of an effective strategy to combat the negative effects of climate change, calling for the construction of dams to mitigate water shortages and the need for collaboration with international NGOs. He urged environmental experts to communicate their research in accessible language and extend their activities to more local levels to foster broader community engagement. The seminar also provided a platform for students and academics to engage with environmental research, aiming to inspire local action towards sustainable solutions.
