Peshawar, The Bank of Khyber has scheduled an Extraordinary General Meeting (EOGM) for its shareholders on May 31, 2024, at its Head Office in Peshawar. The agenda includes the confirmation of minutes from the previous annual meeting, the election of three directors, and the approval of a new Exchange Company subsidiary.
Shareholders will vote on confirming the minutes of the 33rd Annual General Meeting held on March 29, 2024. The election segment involves choosing three directors for a three-year term starting June 1, 2024, from a pre-fixed pool of nine candidates. The retiring directors up for re-election are Mr. Asad Ali Shah, Mr. Tahir Jawaid, and Mr. Muhammad Shahid Sadiq.
A special item on the agenda is the proposed establishment of a new subsidiary, BOK Currency Exchange (Pvt) Limited. The initiative follows discussions by the board in their 183rd meeting on November 3, 2023, aligning with recent reforms by the State Bank of Pakistan in the Exchange Companies sector. The resolution outlines that the subsidiary will have a paid-up capital of PKR 500 Million and an authorized capital of PKR 1 Billion, aiming to strengthen regulatory compliance and operational capabilities in currency exchange.
