BJP Election Videos Spark Controversy and Outrage in India

New Delhi, Recent animated videos released by the BJP, depicting minorities and political rivals in a contentious manner, have stirred significant public and political uproar in India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the videos circulated by the BJP on social media platforms such as Instagram and X, portray the opposition Congress party as favoring India’s Muslim minority at the expense of tribal and lower Hindu castes. These portrayals have led to official complaints to the Election Commission, accusing the BJP of inciting communal tension and violating electoral conduct.

The Election Commission has issued warnings against the use of AI to create misleading deepfakes and directed political parties to promptly remove such contentious content. Amid these tensions, Prime Minister Modi continues his bid for a third term, focusing his campaign on his government’s economic and social policies.
