Bulgaria and Sindh Forge Partnership on Agriculture and Cultural Affairs

Karachi: In a meeting at the Chief Minister House, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and Bulgarian Ambassador Irina Gancheva agreed to collaborate in the areas of culture and agriculture.

According to Chief Minister Sindh, the dialogue highlighted the long-standing diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Bulgaria, established in 1964, and explored potential cooperation in agriculture, trade, education, and culture.

The Bulgarian ambassador noted Bulgaria’s population of 6.89 million, emphasizing agricultural practices such as sunflower cultivation, while Chief Minister Shah suggested partnerships between universities in Sindh and Bulgaria for joint education and research initiatives. Both parties recognized the rich historical and cultural backgrounds of Sindh and Bulgaria, with Gancheva mentioning the ongoing study of Sindhi literature and culture by Bulgarian scholars.

Discussions also included the progress of rehabilitation efforts for flood victims in Sindh, with Chief Minister Shah reporting that construction of 210,000 houses is advancing swiftly.
