Canada Reaffirms Accusations of Indian Involvement in Sikh Activist’s Murder

Ottawa, The Canadian government has reiterated its accusation that Indian agents were involved in the murder of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian soil, following the arrest of three Indian nationals linked to the case. This development underscores ongoing tensions between Canada and India over the issue.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly, addressing the media, emphasized the seriousness with which Canada views the allegations. “We stand by the allegations that a Canadian was killed on Canadian soil by Indian agents,” Joly stated, highlighting the ongoing investigation by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). She further noted that the Canadian government would not comment further as the investigation proceeds and stressed the importance of handling diplomatic communications with India privately.

The arrests last Friday are part of a broader investigation into the assassination of Nijjar in British Columbia last year, an event that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau previously attributed to Indian government agents in remarks made last September.
