Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister Advocates for Enhanced Sports Facilities in Education

Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi emphasized the importance of sports alongside academic activities in educational institutions during a speech at the prize distribution ceremony of the interzonal provincial sports competitions. Afridi highlighted the ongoing efforts to build additional sports facilities and encourage more robust participation in sports among students.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister Afridi discussed the state’s plans to resume the construction of 1000 sports grounds, aiming to provide better facilities for local athletes and support their development. The event, attended by students, teachers, and sports teams, celebrated the achievements of participants in various competitions.

Afridi also addressed staffing needs in education and announced measures towards improving the infrastructure in government colleges and universities, including shifting towards solarization, automation, and digitalization. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to enhance transparency and efficiency within the department while saving time and resources.
